Conga is a tall and narrow drum with a single head. Three to four drums are attached to make a group and when these drums are played using fingers and palms in a particular manner, a musical sound is produced. Its length is 75cm from bottom to head. Person who is aware of the art of playing conga is called conguero. It can be played by sitting as well as standing.
Tabla is mostly used in India. It gives rhythm to classical and devotional songs. There are two small unattached drums of different sizes with broad base. Tabla is played using different parts of hands: heels, fingers and palms which produce different sounds. Tabla originated from an Arabic word tabl which means drum.
Sitar is also an Indian musical instrument like tabla and is used in classical and devotional music. It is made up of wood with a long neck and a round broad chamber but hollow from inside. It can be taken as the beginning of the advancement of human culture and construction of new musical instruments. It has strings from the starting of the chamber to the end of the neck and is played using fingers only.
Bagpipes are used in Europe, Northern Africa, the Persian Gulf, and the Caucasus. It consists of aerophones using enclosed reeds which are fed by blowing air in a bag. There are different varieties of bagpipes like Tulum, Irish uilleann pipes, small pipes, Gaida, etc
Gongs used in East and south East Asia. It is made up of metal and produce sound when hit with other metallic gong or with a pallet. There are three types of gongs Suspended gongs, Bowl gongs and Bossed gongs. Mainly it is used in Indian devotional music.
There are different types of music invented. And in search of new sounds new musical instruments are being made. People buy the instruments they are interested in and learn to play. Some people make it a part of their life and career.
