Gosfield Hall – The Perfect Wedding Venue
If you are planning to get married then it is very important to choose a venue that reflects the love that you feel for each other. One of the best options in the whole of the British Isles is Gosfield hall. This wonderful building is situated in extensive grounds just outside of Braintree in Essex.
The construction was begun in 1545 by Sir John Wentworth. Ever since then it has been hosting guests and visitors from very important families. It was a popular place for Queen Elizabeth and her entourage during the sixteenth century.
During the eighteenth century the building was remodelled as it became the home of the Marquis of Buckingham. At that time the deer park in the grounds was landscaped and a majestic ballroom was added.
At the beginning of the nineteenth century, and during the French Revolution, it became the home to France’s ruler King Louis XVII. He fled from his homeland with his wife and couturiers to avoid the guillotine.
If you choose Gosfield Hall as the sight for your wedding then you can also feel like royalty. The building still retains wonderful paintings and furniture that have been beautifully preserved over the centuries. There is good reason why it is a highly sought after venue.
There are very few other locations that can match the elegance. If you have always dreamt of having an outdoor wedding then you can still choose Gosfield Hall. The carriageway outside of the main building is licensed to conduct wedding ceremonies. After the vows have been exchanged you can choose to spend a few hours celebrating in the private bar.
If you plan to make a night of it as well, then you and your entourage can hire any of the twenty or so luxury bedrooms so you do not need to rush off, you can enjoy the stately ambience for a full twenty four hours.
