The Eccentric Mentalist Who Distorted My Mind
Last week I had the strangest experience. So strange I’m questioning whether it really happened, or if somebody put me into some state of hypnosis or something. I was eating lunch at this sandwich shop, when some girl ask me if I’d like to go to a show with her. She was really cute, so of course I said yes. I didn’t notice her strange tattoo until later.
We got tot this building, which had this makeshift stage set up. They had a bunch of folding chairs. For a minute I thought it was going to be some holy roller convention, or that I was going to get kidnapped into some cult or something. After that fear passed, I settled back and accepted my fate.
Turns out it was for this magic show. This guy came out, and started pulling birds out of the air, and making chairs disappear. He even changed the color of this one ladies hair, that was pretty cool. But for the most part, he stared out with simple illusions that you can get in any magic shop.
After that, the hallucinations began. Or whatever you want to call them. He started speaking to people, but he wasn’t talking. It was like he was mentally projecting himself into peoples minds. I looked around and everybody had these really goofy looks on their faces, like they were enjoying it, but a little worried at the same time.
Next is what really spooked me. He waved his hands, and the roof suddenly disappeared. Everybody was shocked. Then he started to predict which way the wind would blow. And there were a bunch of big trees around the building, so nobody had any idea how he was doing this. It was really freaky.
As everybody was leaving, we were all very quiet and subdued. Shocked almost. I’m still convinced he was using some sort of trickery, but for the life of me I have no idea what it is, or was. I haven’t been the same since.
