The Choirboys – Supposedly joke adventures of LA. Cops who lessen work pressures by bawdy doings. This is a Foul-mouthed, foul-minded, heavy handed film from book by Joseph Wambaugh, who disavowed this failure. Cast includes Charles Durning, Louis Gossett, Jr., Perry Baron, Clyde Kusatsu, Stephen Macht, Tim McIntire, Randy Quaid, Don Stroud, and James Woods. (119 minutes, 1977)
Man in The Attic – flavorful account of renowned Jack the Ripper, with Palance going full-blast. Remake of The Lodger. Cast includes Jack Palance, Constance Smith, Byron Palmer, Frances Bavier, Rhys Williams, Sean McClory, Isabel Jewell, and Leslie Bradley. (82 minutes, 1954)
Sin City – Sin City is a place not for the faint of heart. The streets are filled with vigilantes, corrupt cops, and sexy women. Unique and radiant cinematography and special effects produce a perfect feeling for this world. Mickey Roarke and Bruce Willis star in this violent action thriller.
Sawdust and Tinsel – Kindles soar in this dazzling, metaphorical motion picture set in a small-time carnival and focusing on the relation between carnival owner Gronberg and his oversexed mistress (Andersson). Cast includes Harriet Andersson, Ake Gronberg, Anders Ek, Gudrun Brost, Hasse Ekman, and Annika Tretow. (92 minutes, 1953)
Thief of Baghdad – Reeves looks for the elusive blue rose so he could wed the Sultan’s baby girl. This is nothing like the Sabu interpretation, although this is a fine piece of work. Cast includes Steve Reeves, Giorgia Moll, Arturo Dominici, and Edy Vessel. (90 minutes, 1961)
Marie Antoinette – Story on life of famed 18th-century French monarch has remarkable Morgan in title role although requires point of view and scope. Cast includes Michele Morgan, Richard Todd, and Jean Morel. (105 minutes, 1955)
The Bourne Ultimatum – In the third film of the series, Jason Bourne is still being sought after by those who had trained him into the extreme assassin that he is. Having lost his memory when almost being killed, Bourne is retracing his past to try to recognize who he was, and why everybody wants him dead. All his skills are put to the test, as the C.I.A. is unremitting in its effort to have him eliminated. Starring Matt Damon and Julia Stiles.
Sing, You Sinners – Wagering Crosby couldn’t confront responsibility, in spite of of jabbing his brother MacMurray. Three brothers with dissimilar interests have a singing act. Can the other two brothers save the day when the gambling brother bets on a “sure thing”? Includes Wesley Ruggles, Bing Crosby, Fred MacMurray, Donald O’Connor, Elizabeth Patterson, Ellen Drew, and John Gallaudet. (88 minutes, 1938)
