The story revolves around Claude, Berger his close friend, Sheila their roommate and their friends who struggle to balance their lives, sexual revolution and loves. They constantly reble against their conservative parents, the war and the society at large. Eventually, Claude has to choose between resisting the draft like all his other friends have or compromise on his pacifistic principles and serve in Vietnam thus risking his life.
