Amsterdam city breaks are considered completely different things to different people. This city is definitely a city of contrast and never lacks things to do. Most of the city of Amsterdam is built on a grid system that consists of plethoras of different canals.
The Anne Frank house which is a tribute to the period during which the German’s occupied Amsterdam in WW2 and definately worth a visit.
If you are interested in art and history than Amsterdam will definitely be a city that will not disappoint you. There are Van Gogh museums that you can opt to visit as well as the extremely popular Anne Frank house that is located in Amsterdam as well.
Unfortunately Amsterdam does have a tropical climate, but seasons are varied and nice in their own way. Spring, when Amsterdam’s famous tulips are in bloom is the perfect season in which to visit. During spring, the little houses and houseboats have colorful tulips in full bloom in their window boxes. Gardens like Keukenhof will be covered in colorful tulips and longer days and rising temperatures will invite locals to bring out the wonderful caf atmosphere.
The climate in Amsterdam is not tropical, but seasons are special in their own varied way. Tourists usually choose Spring to visit Amsterdam as that is when the famous tulips are in full bloom and houses and houseboats are adorned with tulips that fill their flowerboxes. In the famous city gardens you will be able to enjoy longer spring days and warmer weather amongst the flowering tulips whilst locals get ready to create their special cafe culture.
One of Amsterdam’s oldest districts is The Jordaan. Narrow homes and snaking canals is the Amsterdam that we see on picture postcards. It is here that the artistic, bohemian free spirits are drawn to. The famous Rembrandt lived here in his last years and today you will find many bookshops and coffee shops in the area.
