Playing Seven Card Poker Stud
Seven card poker stud is a well known poker variation and are preferred by most of the people. There are basically two popular categories in seven card stud poker known as hi-low card stud and hi card stud. The Hi-low card stud is quite different from the rest of the poker variation and the pot that is formed out of the staked poker chips are shared among the highest hand and the lowest hand, while in hi card stud which is more popular among people is played as any other poker variation with just one winner who hold the highest hand.
In the seven card stud poker the players are dealt with two facedown cards, id and four faces up cards called cank. Round of betting with poker chips sets is conducted in each round when the faces up cards are dealt. The player form hands out of the dealt cards and the highest hand wins the pot.
A final face down card is dealt once all the face up cards are dealt and the final round of betting with clay poker chips is decided among the players and the players who are still in the game are ready for a showdown which decides the winner by comparing their hands and the highest hand wins the pot.
The hands value is determined according to the preset chart as in other poker games and the royal flush is as usual the highest hand that a player can form. The sequence after the royal flush is as follows Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, and High Card. If you have a royal flush then you can stake your poker chip sets huge.
In seven card stud a total of seven cards are dealt. The seven cards include two face down card after which four faces up cards are dealt and finally one single face down card is dealt in the finishing round of betting hence a total of seven cards are dealt. The betting begins in the third round where you start betting your chip sets from your chip cases in each phase.
There are a total of six stages in ‘seven card stud poker’ which are as follows, Third Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Sixth Street, the river, and the showdown. The players need to stake a minimum amount of clay poker chips to stay in the game called the ante. The actual betting begins in the third street stage.
The players of the game tries to make the best hand they can and if they feel they have chances of winning, would stake more of their poker chip sets in all the rounds of betting and focus to win the pot and those players who carry their stakes until the show down would win through the game if they have the highest hand on comparing with each other. The players reveal their set of five cards which is at the end of the game and the betting rounds compared to determine the winner of the pot.
Seven card stud and texas holdem are some what the same with slight variations. As all other poker games this variation is played with poker chips and also have various betting rounds and the main difference is that the betting sequence and number of cards dealt vary.
