Doug Liman directed The Bourne Identity is an adaptation of the novel by Robert Ludlum. Matt Damon delivers a power house performance as Jason Bourne in this action thriller. The film is one of the biggest hits for Matt Damon. The actor plays the role of an assassin with so much confidence and conviction that he is actually America’s most favorite anti-hero.

The film revolves around the story of a man whose ‘dead’ body is recovered by Italian fisherman from the waters of Mediterranean Sea. The man is Jason Bourne. But he does not remember who or where he is. He has bullet wounds in his back and a bank account number is embedded in the hip. On regaining consciousness he travels to Switzerland to get his belongings from the bank vault – his passports, pile of cash and a gun. At this point the viewers are pretty sure that he is not an ordinary guy.

He is confused as to why the CIA wants to finish him off. He began searching for answers and in this dangerous mission his companion is Marie, his love interest. He is hell bent on finding out why his life has taken a perilous turn. The film has a huge share of action scenes and is a very fast paced one too.

The Bourne Identity movie is a highly entertaining one and keeps you absorbed with its superb car chases and action sequences. There is nothing clichd about this movie and I can bet that you will find it hard to take your eyes off the screen eve for a second. The good thing about the film is that it does on dwell on the romance between Julia and Matt Damon. The indications are self-explanatory. We have seen a lot of action movies losing steam due to the spotlight on the love part but this is a welcome relief.

Among the lead actors, Matt Damon as Jason Bourne is par excellence. He gives a convincing performance and one just hopes that he displays the same intense acting in the future projects. His relationship is Marie is hinted at but never mollycoddled. That is commendable direction. There are two more Ludlum movies in this series and I just cannot wait to see the next Jason.

The two major disappoints in the movie would be the shortened role for Julia Stiles and Clive Owen. The former has nothing to do in the film while Clive has only a couple of good scenes.

This is a movie which is just too good to miss. I hope the local DVD store has many copies of this wonderful movie. But to avoid all tensions I suggest that you watch The Bourne Identity online free. It will be a real shame if you miss this flick ‘coz even if you are not a big fan of action movies, you will still love it. So just sit back, switch on your PC and watch the movie.
