The EU commission wants a set limit on the maximum volume on all MP3 & MP4 players which are sold within the EU. These limits will apply to the Apple iPod range

The EU proposals follow after the latest report published in 2009 that highlighted that up to 10 million citizens in the EU are in danger of permanent hearing loss as a result of listening to loud music for long periods of time

Experts at the EU Commission are pushing for the default maximum volume to be at 85 decibels. However consumers would be able to bypass this default limit and increase the volume to a maximum threshold of 100 decibels.

In January 2010, an eight week consultation of all EU standardization groups started on these proposals to limit volume. The commission hopes that a final agreement could be reached within 12 weeks

Perturbing results were brought to light at research facilities where some MP3 players were tested by researchers. A number of of the MP3 players had a maximum volume level of 120 decibels, which is equal to a jet aircraft taking off. This is the issue that the EU intends to tackle, as currently no set safety default volume level applies.

However MP3 player manufacturers have to by law, include information about risks in their instruction manuals. For all practical purposes though, nobody reads these, and it doesn’t actually stop the consumer from increasing the volume to maximum. What’s more,a study has indicated that deafness amongst younger people is increasing as a direct result of the use of listing to loud music on earphones.

MP3 players are perceived as being more dangerous than CD players or the ‘Walkman’ because they can store many hours of music and have a long battery life, which allows users to listen to them continuously for long periods without a break. Often while driving when the volume is very high to drown out outside noise. Over time the resulting injury to hearing can be similar that seen in previous years caused by industrial noise.

When it comes to entertainment in the home, few inventions have made the impact of the television set. From the early days of television in the 1950’s to the present day, TVs are the kings of family time.

Before TVs were common in the home, families often got together to listen to the radio. It was not uncommon for families and friends to congregate in the living room to listen to weekly programs. The programs of old had little in common with radio programs of today, however. Shock jocks and a single style of music were unheard of. Entertainment for the entire family, variety shows and dramatic story telling was the norm.

As wonderful as radio was, it was replaced as a form of family entertainment in an extremely short period of time. However, the invention of the television did not happen over night. In fact, it was a compilation of various inventions from as early as the 1830’s. Over 100 years later, TV’s had become a common fixture in the average home. Such as they were, in black and white with poor reception and in large boxes, the television literally took over the family room of many homes.

In the sixty years since televisions became common in the home, there has been a complete transformation of the product. Images are true to life and colors are vibrant. The TV itself has transformed as well. Long gone are the unsightly boxes that previously contained a projection TV. In its place is a sleek, flat screen design that is so popular that it is difficult to find a modern home that does not have at least one flat screen TV.

Image quality and sleek designs definitely represent an improvement in the appearance of the television set. Many would agree that the quality of programming has dramatically declined as technology has advanced. The days when a family could sit in front of the television and watch any channel together are long gone. Offensive and inappropriate programming is commonplace and finding true family entertainment can be challenging.

How can a magician vanish a solid genuine coin in his hand? Among the nineteen classic effects classified in the performing art of Magic, vanish is one of the most magical ones.

The effects of production and vanish, two most common magical effects, are in fact mirror images of each others. By definition, a vanish effect is to convince the spectators that an object does not exist anymore. The magician performs by proving its existence first and then proves its disappearance. The process may happen in a blink of eyes or it could happen slowly. The process is usually undercover of some concealment. To me, nothing is more magical than watching a solid object vanish gradually and visually in front of my eyes.

Of course, it is impossible to really vanish anything. What the magician actually does is to hide the thing out of view. He could do it at the moment of vanish, by the help of speed. Or he could convince the spectators that the object has vanish but in fact hid it later. The object could be hidden right at the location of vanish or transferred some other places.

Practically all of the methods enumerated under the list of principles for accomplishing appearances, reversed, may be employed for the present effect. You may find some of the principles different at sight but in fact with the same essence.

Not all appearance principles can be easily converted into a vanish effect due to their own natures and conditions. Some can be straightly applied in both kinds of effects, like pulling the object with a thread. One can use this kind of device for both appearance and vanish effects. The only difference is simply the direction where the object is moved to and from. The magician could always modify the details of a trick and method to make it suit his use.

The amount of pressure that you can constantly direct onto your opponents can oftentimes be measured in parallel with your overall success in poker.

When your opponent bets into you, they force you to be the one who has to make a decision - do you feel you have the better hand or not? If you’re holding a margin hand then it’s not easy to make that decision, which often means you’re forced to fold. So it is almost always better to be the aggressor in a hand, unless of course you relaly have a very strong hand and you are trapping your opponent. The idea of being aggressive is to persuade your rival to guess incorrectly about what you’re holding. Whether you want them to fold or call is dependent on the situation, but what you always want is for him to make a mistake. By constantly betting and applying pressure you encourage your opponents to make errors.

In the low limit games, you want to be very selective about the hands you play and the position you play them from. If you are discriminating enough, you can frequently get away with re-raising your opponent and winning a nice pot without ever revealing your cards, based on your strict image.

So called “calling stations” (players who constantly call) in poker are almost always losing players in the long run, and frequently give up their chips because of their curiosity and lack of skill. You never want to be a calling station in poker, but you do want to realise who they are so you can take money from them in the most valuable way possible. And that is simply value betting your decent hands in average increments, to keep them in the hand rather than pushing them off a hand too early.

The fundamental tenet here is that you want to be the aggressor in the game, but you want to do it against the correct opponents with the correct hands. If your Ace King misses the flop, you should probably still do a continuation bet to keep the pressure on, but after that, you should be using profiling information to decide what to do beyond that.

Recently in my neighborhood there was a huge multi-screen movie theater that just opened up. I think it has over forty screens. They have a nice coffee shop in the lobby, and the best part is that is only a five minute walk from my apartment. There are few things in life I enjoy more and sitting and being mesmerized for a couple of hours by a well directed and written movie with my favorite actors.

People have been making movies for a long time. From way back when they had those really cheap machines, where you’d put in a coin and watch five minutes or so of some silent short. Then they started make full blown productions with stories and everything, although they were still silent.

Of course when they invented talking movies, they got even better. Although a for a few unfortunate actors and actresses, it wasn’t such a good thing. Some of them didn’t have such great voices, and when the audience heard how they sounded, they demanded speaking skills as well as acting skills. Nevertheless, a huge opportunity was opened when you could see a movie, and not have to read the subtitles, or rather the flashes of text on the screen.

The next major achievement was the colorization of movies. Soon movies were in rich, living color. People could see the colors of hair, of dresses, of the scenery. Movies suddenly had taken on an extra does of realism, and made them all the more entertaining to he average movie goer.

When they invented 3-D movies, people really got a treat. To watch some science fiction, and have some alien monster seemingly jump out at the screen was a fascinating experience for many. It’s no secret that 3-D movies are still used for powerful entertainment and box office draw.

Today, the latest revolution is with the Internet. Now you can watch movies on your computer. Of course, you can’t watch recent releases, but many site are starting to offer the ability to download and watch movies on your computer, with prices that rival those of traditional rental shops. With more and more technology available to us, watching our favorite movies will only get easier and easier.

Many of the characters in family guy episodes are played by none other that Seth MacFarlane himself. The voices of brain and Stewie are performed by Seth and so are bit characters in the family guy show.

I saw Seth MacFarlane on television make a public appearance and it was so funny to hear those voices come out of his mouth the way they did.

Family guy has gone onto knock the legendary animated show the Simpsons off the top spot for Sunday night ratings.

which would not bother the Fox Network one single bit considering they hold the copyrights to both animated television shows. So it is really down to a battle of the writers and the shows staff.

So I feel no I believe the family guy writing staff is coming out showing trumps on all counts. Don’t get me wrong here I’m not say the Simpsons television show is dead and buried.

The public watch family guy because it is new and tackles issues in a more in your face type of way, which brings a new light and great openings to funny clever punch lines.

I really hope the battle of these two shows continues, so that the viewers who sit down in front of their television sets ready to enjoy another Sunday nights entertainment.

I’m not the only one who feels this way at least I hope so or else I’m wasting my time writing this. Popularity is a big thing in the entertainment business and the internet is the same. People are now enjoying the fact that they can watch family guy online from tones of websites around the world.

We are all hoping there is more the networks can offer the public other than comedy shows that try to tell people something is funny when clearly you would be lucky to get a giggle out someone.

I like scrubs and 30 rock they are fresh and original and believe it or not very, very enjoyable to watch. The characters are played by very good performers who suit their roles perfectly and bring the most out of them to make the viewers laugh.

I have been watching the latest family guy season and I really enjoyed the family guy episode about the second star wars movie it is terribly funny and has an abundance of jokes and one liners.

You just do not stop laughing the whole way through it just tells you about the amount of time and effort that goes into producing these episodes. I can’t wait for the next one to come out.
