Weapons In General

Weapons play an important role in Mafia Wars. The game requires certain weapons for jobs as you advance as well as for fighting, so it is a good idea to arm your family well. Two things that you want to make sure the weapons you are collecting have are high attack ratings and the ability to be gifted to family members. This is so that you can send weapons to family members who need them.

One thing to note about weapons is that several of them have a cash upkeep connected to them. This means that just by owning them your bank balance will drop as the upkeep payments are withdrawn. Make sure you maintain a balance high enough to make these payments.

Note: In the new version that uses Rackets instead of Property there is no upkeep for weapons.

A Few Ways To dig up Weapons

There are a variety of ways to find weapons in the game, several of which are easier than others.

Getting weapons from your family is just about as easy as it gets. A family member can just gift a weapons to you so that you can use it as part of your inventory. You might want to keep a few of the better weapons in stock so that you can gift them to family members when they need them. The benefit of this is that when a new family member joins you will already have the weapons to supply them with.

Purchasing weapons is another option, which can be done as long as you have enough cash. You will find a variety of weapons available for purchase under the weapons tab.
