The hunter represents one of the most versatile classes in Warcraft. During the levelling process it is possible for hunters to approach the game in many different ways. In 2008 I was in a raid where a hunter in the party rolled “need” for every single item that dropped. And with some justification. Beast Mastery is the pet talent tree. In the past it was just about possible to use the pet to “off tank” in the easier instances. Some hunters claim they can still do this, but for the past eighteen months this has become harder. For leveling, a pet will tank very efficiently for one hunter, but for end game, even off tanking is no longer really a role for hunters pets.

Marksmanship is a big DPS (damage per second) spec. Now that survival is also a DPS talent tree, it can be difficult to choose between the two if levelling and DPS is the role you want to take.

Your pet choice is vital. Hunter’s pets come in three sorts. Tank pets – such as turtles will absorb damage and keep threat, allowing you to stand back and “nuke” from distance. Damage pets such as cats provide some threat, but more importantly excellent damage of their own. Finally Cunning pets like spiders will use traps themselves to control enemies. Pick the pet that suits your play style and talent choices.

At end game expect to have to re-learn everything you thought you knew whilst levelling. The expectations on you will be very different. Many hunters become “nukes”, providing massive damage from range.

Hunters are still a very versatile class. Quick to level and providing very good damage in the end-game instances. The one downside is that because of this they are quite common. You’ll rarely see a shout like “Daily Heroic, 1 space left LF DPS”. If you want to be popular in instances then the harder levelling roles of tank or dedicated healer will be more sought after. You will always see shouts for these player types.

Many Star Wars books and movies have been made, so it was no surprise that action figures and video games where next in line. Many games have been developed over the years.

Some of the games are exactly like the movies, with cut scenes that rival the movie itself. Other games are based on the Star Wars universe.

Too many games are coming out and if they just focus on bringing out a couple each year there would be many better games. Let us take a look at the good ones.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

This is an excellent game, the best way to play it is to switch over to the cockpit mode. This will give you the same feeling as if you were watching the movie, but now you are in control.

The gameplay is flawless. You need to collect bronze, silver and gold medals and you can play with many different ships.

One of the first levels is the Death Star. This level comes straight out of the movie and is awesome.

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

A very story driven game, you play as Kyle who wants to pick up his light saber after nine years. In the beginning you do not have your light saber powers yet, instead you use a gun. After completing each level you can assign force powers to kyle his personality. There are eight powers that you can upgrade three times each.

The developers created many different weapons but there are only a couple which you are going to use throughout the game.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

This MMORPG game is very extensive and broad. The game is very story driven and you have to make decisions that will either pull you to the dark side or the light side. The graphics and animation are great in this game.

We just looked at three Star Wars games that you need to play. You will be pleasantly surprised at how good they are.

For those of you still sitting on the fence, and deciding if you want to see the blockbuster Avatar while it’s still in theaters, then let his quick review be your guide. Ok, now for the bad points. The plot is fairly predictable, and there are really no surprises. Even the final battle between the good guy and the bad guy is like something out of a comic book movie. The dialogue is unimaginative, and the ideas presented through the plot are nothing new. In fact, if you’ve ever seen a movie with a good guy versus a bad guy, then you’ll likely figure out how this will end.

The second major negative is that this movie can easily be seen as condescending. The aliens only survive against the evil invading humans due to the help of another human. And since the aliens are clearly metaphorical representations of Native Americans, it makes it seem like the director feels that the Native Americans can only survive with the help of a white guy.

But in the end, the positives clearly out weight the negatives, making this movie well worth watching. We strongly recommend that you see this while it is still in theaters, so you can fully enjoy this stunning visual treat.
