Go Over on Poker’s Beginning
One of the most popular card games in the society today is poker. Many individuals of different ages have been hooked up by this game that brings so much excitement and pleasure. But do you exactly know where poker originated? There are different view and let us try to review all those things.
Pochspiel is the German game that most historians believed it is where poker originates in the 15th century. This German game is similar to “As Nas” as a Persian game that was taught by Persian sailors in the year 1829 to French Settlers in New Orleans. However, it was also believed that the Chinese were the first persons who play this game way back 900 AD. On the other hand, tracing back during the 12th and 13th centuries, Egyptians claimed that they have played an early form of poker. Many people are claiming the fact that poker started in their culture.
There are different poker versions in different countries with unique names. To start with, Persian form of poker is known as “Ganfija” in the 16th century. “Primero” for the Spanish version way back 1526. “Poque” is the version of French for poker game and was popularized in the 18th century and the German version is the “Pouchen”. The combination of two games named “Primero” and a French game named “Brelan” was also believed to be the beginning of poker.
The mother of all poker is considered to be the Spanish version named “Primero” which has a great similarity to the modern poker today. Brag as the other term of the poker strategy Bluffing is an act of fooling your opponent that you have a winning card despite of having a bad card. This poker strategy was related to the Spanish way of playing their game. Jonathan Green was the first person to make a poker documentary with all the strategies and was considered to be a cheating game for poker players.
As the game of poker evolved during the American Civil War, English men came up with a 52-card deck and gave birth to new poker hands named “flush”. It was spread through the Mississippi riverboats where they us gambling as their hobby to kill time. In line with these riverboats, the spread of poker started from the West.
Draw, Jack Pots, and Stud came up as poker variations in 1875. It became popular and games such as 5 Card Draw, 7 Card Stud and the Texas Hold’em were added and became popular in the poker world.
Today, poker tournaments are very popular but not everybody knew that the World Series of Poker begun in Las Vegas way back 1970. Up to this date, this event was still practiced and has come up with more major poker tournaments especially from online poker rooms. We can never be sure about the history of poker, but at least we had reviewed short notes about poker.
