Far and Away, A scrappy Irish occupant farmer hooks up, in uncertain style, with the comparably energetic daughter of a prosperous landowner, and together they travel to America to seek out their final destiny in the 1893 Oklahoma land rush. Excellent platform for Tom and Nicole, who are both beautiful and involving; the dilemma is a drastic dearth of good dialogue to fill the gaps between fight scenes. The Accidental Tourist, This motion picture tells the tale of Macon Leary, who is listless after the loss of his son. This is compounded further when his wife decides to leave him because he will not snap out of it. With a divorce awaiting he finds himself involved with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more tough questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. 1988 Drama.
Belles on Their Toes, Here, Myrna Loy is cast as a widowed architect who will struggle to rear her aging brood. 20th Century Fox back lot seen at its best in recollecting early 1900s America. Clifton Webb makes a succinct appearance at the finish. The Last Time I Saw Archie, Webb’s solitary try at comedy is less foolish than some of his more solemn films; a shame, since William Bowers’ script-based on his own Army experiences had real potential, and Mitchum pleasurably underplays as the con guy. By the way, the genuine Archie Chamber sued for invasion of privacy.
