Can A Hopeless Dancer Study How To Dance?
Dancing is a great and impressive ability to have. It’s no wonder that a lot of people dance as a hobby and there can be lots of folks in dance classes and dance studios. So what occurs if you’re an awful dancer with no talent or rhythm at all? Is it worth the effort and can you get good results?
The answer’s yes – but it’ll take a good teacher, patience and a large amount of work. I have taught many self-confessed pointless dancers whether in dance classes or in private 1-to-1 dance lessons. And you know what? Every single one of them which has stuck at it for a minimum of one or two months has made heavy improvement.
Note that I said everyone who’s stuck at it for at least a few months. There is a learning curve concerned with dancing and it can take a bit, not always months but that is a good approximate for a ‘really bad dancer’ to begin to see good improvements. The people that stick at it for at least a couple of months are the ones who are serious about getting better and have the right perspective to achieve success.
It’s a huge achievement for a dancer who had zip going for them dance-wise to be in a position to dance a bit, do some moves and dance on the beat of the music with a knowledge of rhythm.
Occasionally pronouncing you are a rotten dancer is just a condition of mind. Because for some people basic dance talents come naturally. Whilst for others it’s something they need to learn and then after they can understand it properly they can use it correctly.
Acknowledging that you can’t dance is a great initial step ; you need to be aware of where you are. It can sometimes be easier to teach someone who unreservedly admits they ‘suck at dancing’ to use a unnamed quote because they have nothing to lose and are sometimes prepared to put in the effort.
