Global Dating: Ukrainian Women and Daily Life
Members of international dating sites often wonder what life is like on the other side of the computer screen. Millions of men are attracted to Ukrainian women and many topics of their discussions involve the daily life in Ukraine and how it compares to life elsewhere.
One interesting fact about life in Ukraine is that most households don’t have clothes dryers. Articles of clothing are hung on lines outside to dry, usually on balconies since many people live in large high rise buildings. This presents a big challenge during the winter months since the below freezing temperatures may cause the clothing to never dry completely. Also, everything is ironed, including sheets, t-shirts, and even socks! Most homes do have modern washing machines with different settings and cycles. However, some Ukrainians still use the old Soviet style machines that involve pouring water into the washer, then draining it at the end of the wash cycle. Since there is no spin cycle, they also have to wring the clothes out by hand and proceed to hang them on the line.
Food shopping in Ukraine can be a very different experience depending on the size of the city. Grocery stores and snack stands are common in smaller towns, while supermarkets have become more popular in larger cities. The supermarkets have larger selections of course, including pharmacies, bakeries, and delis. The most unique and exciting shopping experience is visiting the marketplaces or bazaars. Almost anything can be found from clothing to cosmetics to fresh baked foods like Ukrainian pyrizhky. The marketplaces usually offer products at a much lower cost than the other shopping options.
Another aspect of Ukrainian life is the involvement of their banks. They are not only used for deposits and withdrawals of money, but banks are also the locations where everyone goes to pay their water, gas, and electric bills. These payments must be made in person and people have to keep record of their usage themselves since no invoices are mailed. They keep an eye on their meters, pay what they owe, and receive visits by auditors who check for mistakes.
Car ownership in Ukraine is becoming more prevalent, but most people still see it as an extravagance rather than an essential. Those that do buy cars pay a high price since they prefer foreign models and have to pay large import taxes. Trains, buses, taxis, and the subway are the most preferred methods of transportation. Many people just choose to walk where they need to go, which is why so many Ukrainian ladies are physically fit!
Men who strive to learn as much as they can about Ukrainian life and culture are more likely to experience an easier and more enjoyable experience dating Ukrainian women online. Merging different lives and cultures together is one of the most exciting things about international marriage.
