To find a solution to this problem as fast as possible, Margaret resorts to everything she can think of. She finally finds an answer. She makes a declaration that Andrew is her fianc. Meanwhile, Andrew has no clue what Margaret is trying to do. Though Andrew cannot stand Margaret, he decides to go along. We later find out that he agreed to this in order to get the editors post as a return favor.
To make the engagement official, Andrew and Margaret have to undergo an interview where they are warned about how couples nowadays fake marriage to escape deportation and get into trouble. This scares them both quite a bit, but they manage to get through it unhurt. They are also informed by officials that they would be asked various questions about each other in order to test whether their relationship is in fact, genuine. This is an extremely entertaining scene. In their effort to prove the genuineness of their relationship, Margaret and Andrew go to Alaska for a weekend getaway.
