Play Billiard
Billiards is known by a couple of different names, such as pool, pocket pool or 9 ball. Whatever you call it, playing pool is a pastime for millions of people across the country and a serious game to pros that play for big money in tournaments. Some people are gifted and have a natural talent for a smooth stroke and hitting those rocks straight into the pockets. Other people might love the game of billiards, but just seem to struggle with breaking a rack, much less making a combination shot.
Others may play for practice, hoping to bring their game up to the level of a Karen Corr or a Mike Massey. Then there are those who want to learn all the trick shots, as well as the skill and the artistic shots in order to awe all of their friends or impress the ladies. If you’re good enough to do a Color of Money Shot or a Johnny Archer Split, then you probably already know a lot about the game.
You’re going to want a professional level pool cue, chalk, balls, rack and if you’re really going all out, a pair of sweet pool gloves to help you stroke your cue more smoothly. There are a variety of pool cues out there to choose from, some pros even offer their own line of professional grade pool cues for you to buy.
Whether it’s a Predator, McDermott, Viking, Sterling, Cuetec or Falcon pool cue, make certain the pool cue you pick suits you. If price is an object then you should know that you can spend anywhere from a few dollars for a used cue to upwards of several thousand dollars for a serious professional pool cue. If it’s your first personal pool cue, I’d set my sights on something within a $200 dollar range. You can get an excellent pool cue for that kind of money.
As you can see, having the proper equipment to play 9-ball is very important. You can spend a fortune on pool balls, cues, racks, chalk and pool cue repair kits, but you don’t have to do so. It’s very important to keep your pool cue in excellent shape so it your slip shots will work perfectly. Shop around and you’ll find some excellent equipment to play 9-ball with. Winning a 9-ball tournament is exciting and you can do it if you know the rules, practice and have the proper equipment.
