This movie is a much awaited sequel to the first movie and had been adopted for screenplay from the fourth book in the series of sisterhood books. The four friends America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively in the first part of the movie are teens transforming into adults. This movie is a continuation of the story of their lives and the changes they go through. The cast from the first movie has been retained including various other characters such as Lena Kaligaris, Tibby Tomko-Rollins, Bridget Vreeland and Carmen Lowell.
In spite of each of the four friends embarking on four different paths leading to their respective colleges, they still manage to keep in touch with each other by sharing all the experiences that created a landmark in their lives. They continue to do so with the same humor and honesty. Quite surprisingly, the friendship between these four lovely characters is strengthened as each of them discovers their individual strengths, weaknesses, fears, capacities and talents. They realize the greatness and uniqueness of their friendship and learn to value it more.
In this movie, Bridget decides to go back to the summer camp she attended but now as a coach. Also Lena reveals that she went out with Kostas for a while before deciding to break up with him. Both Tibby and McBrian who constantly miss Bailey begin to grow closer to each other unknowingly and finally decide to go out. Carmens mother gets married again to David. Lena then wins a scholarship to the Rhode Island School of Design and sets off to pursue her dreams. Tibby chooses to go to NYU to major in films. Carmen makes it into Yale University and Bridget decides to join Brown Universitys soccer team.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-2 movie has failed to win over as many fans as the first movie did. The critics have received it with mixed opinions. The first part of this sequel was very refreshing and had a great plot. However this has gone stale in the second movie that has its own share of clichs.
