The movie presents a unique plot in which nine people all share a common element of danger. Although they are wholly unknown to each other in life, they have each been kidnapped for the same purpose. Nine Dead begins with the kidnapper abducting all nine of the individuals; they are then put in handcuffs and linked to a lone pole.
After finding themselves in a group of strangers handcuffed to a pole, each of the nine people starts to question why they have been brought to this place together. The hope of their escape and their life lies solely on them finding out the purpose of why they’ve been kidnapped together.
Nine Dead takes a horrific spin when the kidnapper claims he will begin to kill one individual in ten-minute intervals. The only way to stop such killing is to discover what connection that individual has to the rest of the group. If the members can determine this and tell the abductor, the individual will be saved.
Melissa Joan is one star of the movie. She plays a character named Kelle Murphy. The abductor is played by John Terry, Chip Brent plays Sully Fenton, Lawrence Turner plays Coogan, Edrick Browne plays Leon, John Cates plays Christian Collingsworth, Marc Macaulay plays Father Francis, and Lucille Soong plays Chan. William Lee Scott and James C. Victor play Dean Jackson and Eddie Vigoda respectively.
Nine Dead is no longer playing in theaters. The first limited DVD presentations were released in November, 2009.
