The Particular Delicate Salsa Dance is Actually Turning Into Contagious
The rich blend of Latin American and Western cultures combine to influence the Salsa Dance. No matter where you are today, their are signs of it everywhere. Music, television, even fashion are full of the spicy and sultry style. It is fast becoming one of the most popular dance styles today.
Blaring trumpets, the thumping of conga drums and the sounds of cowbells are what give the music the passionate and sultry beat it is known for. The dancers and the music, when performed properly, melt together in to a beautiful mosaic art. Every movement and beat of music emitting sensuality.
This music is a four-beat pattern, which is counted one, two, three, pause, five, six, seven, pause and so on. With the partner who leads, starting on the first count by stepping with the left foot, following right then left. On the fourth count, will pause or tap the right foot. For the next three counts respectively right, left and right. Each step finishes with the transfer of all the weight. The partner, just shifting by four beats, will perform the same moves.
Based on this beat pattern, various styles of the sultry dance emerged. Changing this beat slightly, to an eight beat rhythm, you change the style. This new style is known as On Clave. Son on clave is eight beats, and is either played 2-3 or 3-2 style. A flashier variety of the styles are the Los Angeles style, which started back in the later part of the 1990s and early parts of the 2000s. The most noted difference is the use of 90-degree turns. And the New York style differs in that the breaks are used for directional changes. The modern day salsa incorporates various styles ranging from grit, funk, soothing samba and gyrating statements from hip hop to reggae.
The clothes make the dancer. More formal in their appearance, than from other dance outfits. Sexy Salsa dance wear embellished with beads, sparkling sequins and colorful rhinestones help make your sultry outfit stand apart from the others. Long skirts and dresses with incredible slits up the length of the skirts, not only add the sensuous look that accompanies flowing movements, but it offers the dancer the freedom and comfort to perform these complex moves. The mini dresses also add a sexy flavor to this settle. Hot red tones, differing shades of purples and pinks can add another layer of pizzazz and head turning to this dance style. Palazzo pants are another sexy option, with the slim fitting hip and flare towards the bottom. Combining shimmering halter tops with either style of skirt or pant is an option if you prefer them to wearing one piece dresses. The male should wear simple, formal shades of blacks and browns that compliment the outfits of their partners. Adding a shimmering material or one with sheen works as well.
However, this more formal look may not be what you are looking for for a night out on the town. At a club or other establishment you may choose to tone down your look. Halter tops and tank tops work well, if you do not intend to bend over to much. And if you are going for the look where your skirt flares out when you spin or turn, you may want to consider wearing shorts under the skirt. Long hair should be worn up either by wearing a sparkling head band or a scrunchies. Ponytails should be avoided as they tend to whip around while turning and may cause injury to your partner.
Salsa dancing is one of the most romantic and sensuous dances performed today. The pulsing beat of the music, the beauty of the body movements, and the implied intimacy takes your breath away. It is said to be contagious. Watching this spicy dance leaves many people wanting to try it themselves. And more and more people are looking to learn this sultry dance. After all, we all want to experience romance and passion. Salsa dancing gives us the ability to do so, even if only an occasional Saturday night at your favorite Salsa Club.
